Newfields Winterlights was an unexpectedly entertaining holiday experience! After seeing other photos of the event, I didn’t think there would be more than some decorated trees, but it was much, much more than that.
Around Indy: 2017 Drumstick Dash
Around Indy, the Drumstick Dash has become an annual tradition for many, and it’s easy now to see why. This year was my first time attending the Drumstick Dash and it was a blast! The idea of getting up early on a holiday to go out for run/walk with a 20,000 other people didn’t appeal to me much at first, but, after the fact, I’m happy after that I went.
Holiday Fun: 2017 Carmel Christkindlmarkt
Held in Center Green where the Farmer’s Market is located during the warmer months, this was the inaugural year of the Carmel Christkindlmarkt and it is a must-do for the holiday season. There’s food, drinks, shopping, music and even ice skating!
Around Indy: Small Parks
If you’re from the Indianapolis area, no doubt you’re very familiar with Eagle Creek Park, Broad Ripple Park or Fort Harrison State Park. But, if you’re far from these major parks, like I am now, or you just don’t want to pay a fee to enjoy some outdoor time for a few hours, there are dozens of great smaller parks in Indianapolis and the surrounding area to enjoy free of charge! Here are some of my faves:
Fall visit to Tuttle Orchards
It’s fall again, and that means it’s time for pumpkins, sunflowers, apples, corn mazes, and hayrides, all of which you can find at Tuttle Orchards in Greenfield.
