Day 2 – Friday
Majestic Circle Island Tour
I can’t recommend the Majestic Circle Island tour enough as a way to get a comprehensive introduction to Oahu. It’s an all-day tour that includes stops at the Hanauma Bay, Waimea Falls, Polynesian Cultural Center, North Shore Beaches and the Dole Plantation. It includes hotel pickup, which was ideal for someone like me who didn’t have a rental car.
There was a LOT to say about this tour, so I’ll elaborate on all of the stops and activities in a separate blog post. Stay tuned!
Sunset on the Beach
The above-mentioned tour took up the entire day and I was exhausted after, so I thought it would be the perfect time to just relax and enjoy where I was at for a bit.
It turned out there’s a fireworks show on Fridays as well, which was an unexpected bonus for the evening.
Dinner at M.A.C 24-7
My normal eating schedule was all out of whack, so I ended up not eating dinner until around 9:00 pm. This actually turned out great because there was no wait at all at M.A.C 24-7 that late.
I was drawn to this restaurant because they serve breakfast 24-7 and that’s what I intended to get, but once I was there, I completely changed gears and ordered an Ahi Poke Stack because I felt it was a necessity to get some poke while I was in Hawaii.
After a brief convo with my waiter, during which I told him I was visiting for my birthday, he brought out my ahi with a candle on top! I loved it! And the ahi was fantastic. It was stacked with green onion, avocado, tomato, onion, and cilantro and came with taro chips on the side.
