Knowing I’d only be in town a few days, one of which would be taken up by a conference, I wanted to experience as much of Nashville as I could in a short period of time. The Discover Nashville Tour was a great way to get a fast overview of the city as a newcomer.
The Capital Hotel is an unexpected little gem in Little Rock. Last-minute dinner plans led me to this stunning downtown landmark and put it at the top of the list for places to stay next time I’m in the area.
After a spectacular day of exploring Savannah for my birthday, I was ready for some downtime on the beach. Unfortunately for me, winds were at around 25-30 mph and the sky was overcast on the first of my two planned lazy beach days, so instead of laying on the beach, I ended up just doing some exploring.
Savannah’s always been on my list to visit, and I was excited for this Savannah birthday trip for weeks beforehand. Only having one day set aside to spend in Savannah made it tough to narrow down the best way to use such a limited amount of time, but pre-planning the first part of the day and leaving the evening open-ended worked out pretty well to get a good feel for this historic city without feeling rushed.
I like to travel. A LOT. What I don’t like is traveling alone.
I had been unsuccessful for years at convincing any friends to join me on overseas jaunts, so I just never went. Fast-forward to May of this year when I finally took the plunge to travel by myself and meet up with a tour group in Europe, and it was the best trip I’ve ever had in my life.
