Around Indy: Fivethirty Home

Filled with fun modern farmhouse-style decor items, Fivethirty Home was an unexpected find on Zionsville’s Main Street during the Brick Street Market. Though some of the goods are things that I have seen at other stores, I enjoyed the fact that the shop was well-curated and set up with vignettes all around so that you can easily imagine how to coordinate several pieces to decorate your own home.

One of my favorite things is knobs and pulls, so when I saw a bin full of them near the front of the store, I was immediately in love! World Market used to be my favorite spot to find unique pulls, but Fivethirty takes the top spot now. At only $3.50 – $5 apiece, they’re an affordable way to update some kitchen or bathroom cabinets.

Walking around the store, I spotted a number of decorative items I’d love to have – metal signs, large flowers for floor vase arrangements, dried boxwood, antique-looking clocks.

They also have a selection of furniture in the store that has been painted with milk paint, and those pieces were beautiful. In particular, there was a nightstand painted in a medium blue-gray for only $125 that I would have loved to have found when I was shopping for nightstands earlier in the year.

In addition to the painted furniture in the store, an associate let me know that they can use milk paint to refinish furniture for you, and they offer classes so you can learn to use it yourself. They sell Miss Mustard Seed milk paint in the store.
